BOEING: Adaps Sim Development Engineer-2


This is a Full-time position in Athens, AL posted December 1, 2020.

Boeing’s Advanced Design and Prototype Solutions (ADaPS) organization in Huntsville, AL is looking to fill multiple software engineering positions in the organization capable of contributing to all phases of the software development lifecycle (requirements, architecture, implementation, and verification).

ADaPS (an organization of over 100 engineers spanning software, systems, and mechanical domains) supports programs across the entire portfolio of Boeing products including Space Launch Systems (SLS), Ground-based Midcourse Defense (GMD), Commercial Space Crew Transportation System (CCTS), B-52 and B-1 Bomber modernization, the Navy’s autonomous refueling MQ-25 vehicle, Advanced Missile Defense efforts including the Multiple Object Kill Vehicle and hypervelocity missile defense (HYVINT), and commercial cargo aircraft automation projects.

ADaPS specializes in executing rapid prototyping and development programs utilizing small, responsive Agile teams.Position Responsibilities: Develop aerospace models including, but not limited to, thrust control, navigation, engine control, or RF and optical sensor processing.

Code/unit test, process problems and anomaly resolution(s), support product reviews and reports results to team leads and management.

Provide support for inputs to change proposals.

Provide critical support of fielded software over the entire product lifecycle.

Support research into technology advances for potential application to company business needs (e.G.

automated builds, deploy, testing and test data analysis).

Support the software process to maintain a robust and auditable software version control and release process, to include problem reporting and resolution, Corrective and Preventative Action reporting, requirements verification, performance validation, and product release.The position must meet Export Control compliance requirements, therefore a “US Person” as defined by 22 C.F.R.

§ 120.15 is required.

“US Person” includes US Citizen, lawful permanent resident, refugee, or asylee.Basic Qualifications (Required Skill/Experience): Bachelor’s Degree or higher from an accredited course of study in Science, Technology, Engineering or Mathematics.

1+ year(s) of experience in realtime software development.

1+ year(s) of experience developing in C/C++ software.

1+ year(s) of experience in software development in a Linux, VxWorks, or Windows operating systems.Preferred Qualifications (Desired Skills/Experience): 1+ year(s) of experience with visual studio development environment.

1+ year(s) of experience developing java or MATLAB software or models.

1+ year(s) of experience in design of digital boards or circuits.

Coursework or study of RF systems, optical systems, dynamic, mathematics, or astronomy.

Ability to obtain a U.S.

Security Clearance for which the U.S.

Government requires U.S.

Citizenship.Typical Education/Experience:Education/experience typically acquired through advanced technical education from an accredited course of study in engineering, computer science, mathematics, physics or chemistry (e.G.

Bachelor) and typically 2 or more years’ related work experience or an equivalent combination of technical education and experience (e.G.
